About us

Varna Regional Museum of History (the Varna Museum)
is a cultural and scientific institution that seeks, studies, preserves and presents cultural goods, natural specimens and anthropological remains in the region of Varna.
The beginning of the museum work in Varna was set by local public figures and intellectuals in the 1980s.
In 1901 the Varna Archaeological Society was founded. Its first collection was organized and located on June 11, 1906 in the premises of the Girls' High School of Varna - in the building where the Archaeological Museum is located nowadays.
An eminent part of the Varna museum is its emblematic Archaeological Museum that has an exhibition area of over 3,000 m2 and rich funds storing more than 100,000 monuments from the region's past.
Varna Regional Museum of History is the largest non-capital museum institution in Bulgaria, with a globally recognized contribution to the study, dissemination and preservation of cultural heritage.

Within its century-long history University of Economics – Varna has provided valuable training to over 155,000 professionals specializing in economics, including many international students from over 60 countries.
As a result, UE – Varna graduates have pursued successful careers locally and internationally.

Over 230 full-time members of faculty currently teach over 7,500 Bulgarian and international students.

Nordland Museum

The Nordland Museum is a regional museum in the central part of Nordland County in the Salten region of Norway. Its main headquarters are in the town of Bodø, the capital of Nordland County. Bodø will be one of the European Capitals of Culture in 2024 and is the first city in the European Arctic Circle to attain this status.
The museum is proud of one of its biggest 2019 projects: The Jekt Trade Museum is a maritime museum whose exhibition focuses on the legends, traditions and lifestyle of the population in northern Norway, as well as its trade relations over the centuries. The museum is organized and exhibited beyond its traditional environment and is located in a thematic natural site. Thanks to the project’s success, the Nordland Museum is on the list of museums nominated for Museum of the Year in Norway 2020/2021.
The museum manages 19 museum and cultural sites with exhibitions spread accros more than 130 museum buildings. The museum is designated as a centre of competence in museum activities in the region and focuses on coordinating and preserving cultural heritage on a local and regional level.
